Lesia Orobets founded Price of Freedom to formalize her and her associates’ activities in advocating Western support of the Ukrainian Air Force, particularly its anti-aircraft/anti-missile capacity.
Price of Freedom is focused on filling strategic gaps concerning air defence and other military/economic issues. Our organisation is a focal point of the expertise of serving and retired Ukrainian politicians, business and community leaders, and active service officers of all branches of the Ukrainian defence forces.
Lesia Orobets served two terms as an MP and was instrumental in championing educational and anti-corruption reforms. Lesia Orobets also served her country as a parliamentarian of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She participated in the Orange Revolution (2004) and the Revolution of Dignity (2013-14), significantly contributing to the latter’s victory.
Her late father, Yuri Orobets, was an influential statesman and distinguished as a Hero of Ukraine. Having served three terms as a Member of Parliament, he was among the authors of the Ukrainian Constitution.
Rarely in history are there moments like this one, when European governments can do so much for their citizens’ security with such small resources and risks
