Facilitating the relief of the UKRAF assets and reconcentrate their implementation from rear defence to frontline support. This would help Ukraine to counter Russian gliding bombs more effectively, which remain significant problems for Ukrainian fortified positions.

Regional Security

This initiative could be integrated into existing European frameworks, such as the European Sky Shield Initiative, aligning with Ukraine’s aspirations for EU membership. Additionally, this approach could serve as a practical step toward Ukraine’s integration into NATO by fostering interoperability between (UKRAF) and Western military systems.

“We need to begin joint production of air defense systems – ones capable of countering all types of missiles,” Zelensky said.

According to the Ukraine’s President, Europe needs its own version of the “Iron Dome” – one that can overcome any threat.
